• Introduce yourself to your neighbours
• Donate well-written books or audio cassettes about Islam to local schools and public libraries
• Register and vote
• Attend schools board meetings and council meetings
  (dates for these will be published in local newspapers)
• Put together a local Ramadan or Hajj display at a local school or library
• Submit an opinion piece to the local newspaper about an issue of local importance
• Invite local officials and the public to a mosque open house
• Host public events such as open days at your local mosque.
• Get your self and your local mosque involved in local issues.
• Arrange for local and national officials to speak about community issues at your mosque. (MP’s, police chief, mayor, councillors)

It is a good idea to make yourself aware of the issues that affect the Muslim community in the UK
